Having knocked off the theme parks around San Diego we decided to see some of the city. We boarded a trolley bus in the old town and spent the day hoping on and off.
Highlights included the bar from Top Gun where Goose sang "Great Balls of Fire" and the hill Charlie chased Maverick down.
Oh the other stuff. San Diego is a great city with a rich and terrific history. I really can recommend it to anyone. There is a city park, Balboa, which contains the zoo and about 20 museums plus theatres, art galleries and cafes. The US pacific fleet is based here and we saw 3 Nimitz class carriers which are each about 300 meters long. We went to little Italy and could only find one place with gelati.
Night time saw us attending an American College football game. I was most disappointed the boys didn't want their photo taken with the cheerleaders...
The game was impressive but San Diego had their clocks cleaned by the Aggies.
Tomorrow is the 6 hour drive to Phoenix. Hopefully I can convince Jackie to share the driving or I'm going to be forced to drink some more of that god awful concoction the Americans call coffee.
Happy birthday to Nanna Judy! We tried to call but you must have been at lunch or out at the cinemas watching a movie.

Good to see the weather is beautiful. Love to the boys and take care.
And yet the Americans are so proud of their coffee!!!!!
Trolley tour sounded fantastic. Give the boys time. They will discover cheerleaders eventually. :-)
Hope the drive to Phoenix is ok. Love to you all
