Wizarding World of Harry Potter

This was a good day.
We arrived at Universal Studios at around 9am and due to Jackie's extraordinary planning skills we grabbed our etickets and beat the queues.
Like most of the other folks we made a beeline for Harry Potter.
We walked through Dr Seuss World and some other vanilla stuff and then suddenly could see Hogsmeade with Hogwarts in the distance.
The photos won't do the theme park justice. it's like walking into a real town. there are shops (Honeydukes, etc), The Three Broomsticks restaurant, Ollivandars. It's the books and movies brought to life.
We went straight to Hogwarts for THE BEST RIDE EVER - Harry Potter and The Forbidden Journey. It is awesome. One second you're walking through Hogwarts and the next you're flying in a Quidditch match. And I mean IN!
Next for a wand. We grabbed some butterbeer and queued for half an hour to choose a wand (or did the wand choose us).
Jumped on the Dragon Challenge Rollercoaster ( Ezra and Kobe twice). Declan was about an inch short of the height requirement but took it pretty well after I promised him another go on the Harry Potter ride.
Lunch at the Three Broomsticks and then shopping. Be warned: The every flavour beans might include vomit!
The plan was then to do the Hogwarts ride again and then check out Jurassic Park but while we were in Hogwarts the heavens opened for a serious downpour.
We ran through Hogsmeade and took shelter in The Owlery with our 6 bags of souvenirs.
The rain didn't let up so we bought some sexy ponchos and headed out to see if any rides hadn't been closed by the lightning.
Fortunately a couple of rides were open including The Amazing Spiderman (awesome) and The Cat in The Hat (nice).
Dinner at Bubba Gump & Co Shrimp and back to the room.

The rain has stopped and we're hoping it will stay clear tomorrow for another visit to Universal. We really want to get on the Incredible Hulk Rollercoaster which looks terrifying.

Wow. It sounds every bit as amazing as I could ever imagine. Lucky you guys, and I'll definitely have to visit too. An English teacher's dream :) Love to the boys and hope the weather is better for tomorrow.

Sounds like you all had an absolutely awesome day. Was there a Hogwarts Express as well? Hope the weather improves for tomorrow's outings.
