Hey everyone.
Hit the road at 8 this morning in Escondido California and am now lounging in a hotel in Phoenix Arizona.
Drove through some of the more remarkable countryside I've seen. Sweeping mountain ranges and sprawling valleys.
We took a few photos but not with the phone so you'll have to wait until we get home.
We stopped at Palm Desert for morning tea. Palm Desert is some sort of newly built luxury town in the desert. It has lush and green vegetation and cool maxxed aircon inside the buildings. Outside temperatures reached 109f or 42c. The good old Chevy didn't mind a bit and we ignored the sign advising us to avoid overheating by switching off the air-conditioning .
One sign we didn't ignore was the sign that read:
State prison ahead.
DO NOT PICK UP HITCHHIKERS!
We spotted gophers, prairie dogs and cacti.
Dinner soon and then a 7am pickup for our day trip to The Grand Canyon. I promise a photo or two.

That is one massive car...that'd be big enough for the twins... :)
Fantastic looking car. You might have to bring it back with you. Pardon my ignorance but I thought the Grand Canyon was in Colorado. I know it is big. Does it stretch across a couple of states? Have a great trip tomorrow. Lots of photos.
